Cow of the Year

The Holstein Canada Cow of the Year competition honours elite Canadian cows that have an impact both nationally and internationally and that exhibit qualities in terms of longevity, production, genetic merit, strong pedigree and are excellent ambassadors of Canadian genetics.

In the fall, the Holstein Canada members are invited to submit nominations for animals they feel have the potential to win the Cow of the Year title. Four finalists are selected after which Holstein Canada members can vote for their favourite cow who is unveiled at the Holstein Canada Annual Meeting.
