After a meeting to discuss and analyze your farm and herd’s performance, your advisor will guide you towards achieving your objectives and provide personalized advice in regard to:
- selecting sires;
- developing your cow families;
- prioritizing genetic strategies;
- promoting your herd;
- supporting your farm transfer;
- optimal use of available genetic tools;
- staying up to date with the latest trends in genetics and dairy farming;
- and so much more!
Costs* and inclusions
The rate is $125/hour. The number of hours varies depending on the mandate, your needs, and the tools you use (classification, milk recording, etc.). Contact us to determine the number of hours required to meet your needs. As a reference, opening a 12-hour case will allow for 2 on-farm meetings, herd analysis, redaction of genetic plan recommendations, explanation of relevant genetic concepts, follow-ups, and contract administration. Note that the number of hours is not affected by travel time to your farm.
* Our advisory services are eligible under the 2023-2028 PSC program from the Agriconseils networks, which covers 50 to 65% of costs for cases that include a genetic improvement plan.
